We had the unfortunate experience of being stuck at a red light intersection in our hometown of Agoura Hills CA. On all four corners, many people were waving placards for "Yes on 8". I rolled down the window, flashed my wedding ring, and told the several men on that corner of the intersection that John and I were married two weeks ago. They both said congratulations. I am sure that is what they were told to say if they ran across gays.
Several pick up truck drivers rolled up and yelled "Hey I agree on yes on 8".
We were stuck at the red light, and it got real uncomfortable for us.
In all my life, as a gay man, I have to say, I have seen it all, been through it all, had awful things said to me, but this shook me up.
